I'm a writer from northern Colorado who’s now in New York. My journalism and essays have appeared in New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, The Paris Review, Oxford American, Vice, Slate, Runner’s World and Running Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Review of Books, among others. My writing was selected, as honorable mention, for Best American Travel Writing 2014, and Longreads.com recently listed one of my essays as among the best profiles of 2017. I have an MFA from Columbia University, where I sometimes work as a composition teacher and writing consultant.
